VERO

Portfolio

Vero’s work delves into the link between past experiences and creative expression. Inspired by figures like Marie Curie, Salvador Dali, and Andy Warhol, she blends art and experimentation to create pieces that go beyond traditional mediums. Her work embodies a mix of military precision and romantic drama, always aiming to capture the fluid nature of reality.

I bring a distinct perspective to art. My time in the United States Navy as a geologist, engineer, and gunner has deeply influenced my creative process. Since moving to New York City, I’ve channeled this diverse skill set into my work across painting, sculpture, film, and documentary, adding a unique edge that sets me apart in the art world.

I have found a unique balance between my technical background in science, engineering, mathematics, and technology and my passion for artistic expression. By merging these two areas, I have opened up a wealth of creative possibilities and a deeper understanding of the fundamentals of art and the natural world. With my personal production brand, By Vero, LLC, and studio Noonlight as creative director, I can bring your vision to life in a collaborative setting. “Perspectives”

Documentary Series and
full-length Film

A 7-episode documentary series about the lives, ideas, and perspectives of New Yorkers during the COVID 19 Lockdown from March 2020 through to the end of the summer of 2020. Each episode is roughly 7 minutes long, revolving around one interviewee in dialogue with me. They are seen on camera discussing the way they each are making sense of how the world is turning over right before their eyes. But "Perspectives" is less about COVID statistics and more about the human experience. I often say that when the pandemic hit New York, the world too quickly put the state in a "body bag." We were still alive, just locked in. The streets were no longer bustling, but our minds were still imagining and yearning to speak. I didn't know it then, but I was able to create a platform on which people could speak, be heard, and be seen alive. This documentary represents a variety of New Yorkers from both the city and upstate, women and men, essential workers and entrepreneurs, fathers, brothers, and sisters. Still, most importantly, it reminds us that there is a lot of hope.
